Yellow Trail

I parked in a nearby parking lot and started in the middle of the trail. I would suggest parking on the east end in the horse trailer parking lot because the trail runs directly past that parking lot. The trail is nice when the weather has been dry, but can get muddy and sloppy when it has been wet because horses are permitted on the trail. The park service has done a good job this spring (2020) cleaning up the trail from fallen trees and over growth. CAUTION: The trail is well-worn and marked so it is easy to follow, except for a poorly-marked and easily-missed turn to the north where the Yellow Trail overlaps the Orange Trail. Be aware of this because it is easy to miss and continue on the Orange Trail without realizing it. I believe there are three creek crossings on this trail. If you park in the horse parking lot and start by going southwest, there is one right at the beginning, but it can be crossed using a large fallen tree. A second one after you head north at the bottom of the hill near the main road. You can remove your shoes to cross or try to wade across. There is a third crossing, but it is much smaller and crossed rather easily.
