Description
This trail goes from the Wyeth Trail #411 to a four-way junction with the Gorton Creek Trail #408 and the North Lake Trail #423. From its junction with the #411 about 1.4 miles north of North Lake, the #418 makes a short, fairly steep climb up to the top of the ridge leading south to Green Point Mountain. The trail can be faint and a little hard to follow until it reaches the crest of the ridge. The trail's gradient gets progressively less as you head south along the broad ridge. The trail is pretty well defined through here, but there are a few spots where it's possible to miss a minor turn. After 1 mile, you'll pass a junction with the Plateau Cutoff Trail #412, and after another 1.4 miles of easy hiking, you'll reach the end of the #418 at its junction with the Gorton Creek Trail #408. This trail can be used to form several long and short hiking loops with other trails in the area.
