Oeste Vista Trail

This trail can be done clockwise or counterclockwise. We chose clockwise to keep the steepest section for the downhill leg. The trail begins with a few switchbacks as you start to climb in elevation. The terrain is fine powder dirt with some tree limbs along the way. There is a fair amount of shade along the trail which made it nice on a hot day. About a half mile in there was an intersection with signs that pointed to the short loop and the long loop. The 3 mile loop is the long route. It was a steady climb with some up and down in elevation. There was nothing tricky about the trail, it was easy to navigate. Once near the top, there was a bench with a view overlooking the golf course. Nothing spectacular but a nice spot to rest. A little further along there were two picnic tables. We thought the bench marked the top and we would then begin the descent but there is a little further to go before you each the peak. On the way back down there were a few steep sections where our sticks come in handy.
