This trail creates the center portion the Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center Loop. It connects the Wetlands Trail with the Prairie Trail. 90% of this trail is singletrack that travels through the bottomland hardwood forest that rests upon the southern banks of Clear Creek. The trail is well traveled and should be easy to navigate, with great signage present at intersections. Your journey to this area is rewarded by sweeping viewpoints of Clear Creek. As you travel toward the western terminus of the trail you'll pass over several boardwalks that help to keep your feet dry when seasonal rains create creeks and mudholes. This trail is a great place to enjoy some traditional unfettered bottomland hardwood forest blanketed by a sea of green grass.
