Japanese Garden Trail

This trail is very useful for making loops in Washington Park. It connects to the Wildwood Trail to the west of the Japanese Gardens and to a spur trail leading to Arlington Heights on Fairview Blvd. The trail drops down from Wildwood towards the gardens. Along one stretch here there are great views into the gardens, and even to Mt Hood over the gardens. However, it should be noted that this isn't some sneaky free back entrance to the Japanese Gardens. The trail will come to a fence and then follow that fence along a service road for the gardens. It's this stretch of the trail along the road and fence that isn't particularly nice. The trail then hits some steep switchbacks that pop you out at the tennis courts on SW Kingston Ave.
