Point to Point
This strange feature seems to rise randomly out of the California desert. From the parking lot, you follow the sandy trail which meanders through an ancient lava flow. The rocks have been pitted and worn smooth over the millennia. The many pockets in the rock create hiding spots for lizards and other creatures.
Soon, you arrive at the crater and come to the broken down west side which allows for an easy entrance. From here, you can explore the old volcano from rim to base and then head back on the same trail that you came from.
