Green Creek Trail

The Green Creek Trail is a level paved walking trail in the Richmond Hill area.Maintained by Bryan County, the interpretive trail parallels the creek dug out in the 1930's at the behest of Henry Ford as a way to encourage healthy forestry and farming in the region. Ford took a liking to the area for its nature and birding, and his efforts helped transform the wetlands swamp into an area that could sustain agriculture.Bryan County currently uses the trail to offer access to the protected green spaces and forests in the area.The trail offers a good place to walk, with few crowds and peaceful quiet.The trail stretches between Highway 144 and Spur 144. Parking is along Highway 144 on a gravel pullout immediately after the metal guardrail ends on the northbound lane. It's very easy to miss. There is no parking on Spur 144. Alternatively, the trail can be accessed in the center from Devaul Henderson Park.There are no amenities along the trail, only a couple interpretive signs and benches.
