Description
During the mornings, it helps to hike in the clockwise direction as you may get shade on the west side during the summer so that makes it cooler. Then coming around and down the other side means the sun is less likely to be in your eyes. At the trailhead there is a large map, so study your route ahead of time as there are some turns or splits in the trail. These do allow for options on the east side coming back, or on the west side, there are options to extend this hike.
