Warren Peak + Panorama Loop

Warren Peak + Panorama Loop is a 7.6-mile route within Joshua Tree National Park between Palm Springs and Yucca Valley. It features groves of Joshua Trees, a mountain summit, plus expansive views across a beautiful desert terrain. It traverses the less-crowded western part of Joshua Tree National Park, away from the main tourist attractions. This area is suitable for trail running, hiking, and backpacking. Located near the hiker parking area, the trailhead begins along a sandy and flat terrain. In 1.8 miles, you will reach a junction with the Panorama Loop Trail. Turn left and follow the loop clockwise. At mile 4.2, you will reach another junction. Head west on the Warren Peak Trail by turning left. Stay right at mile 4.5 to stay on the Warren Peak Trail. In less than half a mile, you will reach the peak at 5,106 feet. Warren Peak offers expansive views of the desert, including Mount San Jacinto and Mount San Gorgonio, two of the tallest peaks in Southern California.From the top, retrace your steps back to the Panorama Loop Trail. Continue straight at mile 5.5 to complete the Panorama Loop without adding extra miles. Continue straight past the next junction and follow the Black Rock Canyon Trail back to the parking area where you began. WATERAll water must be brought and carried.
