Description
This is a wide path around the prairie on the west side of Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge. The trail circumnavigates the prairie with options to make the trip shorter via the West Side Trail Cutoff in the middle. A gentle grade and flat surface make the trail good for foot, wheelchair, or stroller traffic. While on trail, listen to the sounds of many varieties of bird, watch falcons surveying the area for prey, and count the number of rabbits hopping across the trail. Use this time as a quiet respite to reflect and enjoy. To top it all off, pleasant views of the foothills and Front Range can be seen at various points along the loop. A sign with a map and information is located at the entrance on W 77th Ave, near Kipling St.
