Description
The Crossing Trail lays claim to a vital piece of history from the American Revolution, and is well worth the visit. Starting at the trailhead off Telegraph Road, follow the short trail as it meanders through the woods past a junction with the Birch Bluff Trail to a section of the Old Telegraph Road. During the American Revolution, the section of road seen here was a vital player in the transportation of both American and French troops to one of the final battles of the revolution at Yorktown. Today, signs displayed along the trail help to paint the full picture of why this road was so relevant to the success of the revolution. Continuing past the Old Telegraph Road, simply follow the trail south to an intersection with the modern, and paved, Telegraph Road. Hike left along the road to reach your car.
