Swiftcurrent Pass - Altyn/Henkel Connector

This trail historically was used when most visitors took horses from Many Glacier Hotel up and over Swiftcurrent Pass to reach the Granite Park Chalet. Since the building of the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, most visitors start hiking to Swiftcurrent Pass from the parking lot of the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. This trail is closed most of the season to provide bears access to an important food source without human interference. The trail breaks off from the Ptarmigan Trail - Altyn/Henkel Connector and travels through a mix of aspen and pine trees where it joins up with the Ptarmigan Trail.
