These falls await at the end of the trail. While not always flowing, they're still great to look at and serve as a great lunch spot.

Description
This is a well-marked trail that starts from the fork with the Oak Spring Trail. This waterfall/spring is the most active between the Oak Spring Trail and Pine Canyon. Golden Columbine flowers and an orchid can be found here. Pine Canyon also has the columbine but not as prevalent as they can be found on this trail. This hike is easier than both Oak Spring Trail and Pine Canyon for the casual visitor who is seeking wildflowers. Note that the gravel road leading in from Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive is closed a short ways in. You can park, then walk the rest of the gravel road to the trailhead. The total trip from the parking lot, up the gravel road, down the Cattail Falls trail, and back is around 5.5 miles.
