Description
This is one of the best local trails that the Coeur d' Alene area has to offer and it is a beautiful singletrack. The trail itself is hard packed dirt with a mixture of light sand in places. It consist's of a few switchbacks and a few small creek crossings. This trail is a great climb and rewards you with good views of the valley floor, Lake Pend Oreille and surrounding mountain ranges. Bernard Peak Trail (#37) offers a continual, consistent climb (though not terribly steep) all the way to the top. The trail is built with really long traversing sections making the trail longer, but gentler in grade. It weaves from side to side and has a few little rises. You access the trail via Scout Trail.
