Hagen to Putt-Putt

I prefer to hike/run this loop counter clockwise, so the uphill is in the shade. The trail begins just before the large parking lot. Cross the bridge over Cache Creek and follow the signs for Hagen Trail #4037. Hagen's is pretty mellow with the exception of one short but very steep climb. It is mostly wooded with a few pleasant open meadows. There are three junctions to escape Hagen Trail back to Cache Creek Rd, two about 1/2 the way and the other 2/3 the way to the end. Stay right at all junctions and continue to the end of the trail where it crosses the creek back to Cache Creek Rd.To complete the loop, locate the Putt Putt Trail on the other side of the road. The trail begins to climb at an easy grade, then ramps up the grade into a side canyon. This is a hotter, south facing section. From here the trail descends and reascends a few times on smooth trail. Stay right at all junctions until you reach the Woods Canyon Connector #4045A, then make a left here back to the parking lot.
