To prevent further vandalism of rock walls already covered in deep graffiti, the off-trail area southeast of Sand Dune Arch is closed.

There and Back
From the Sand Dune Arch parking area, head northeast on the Broken Arch Access trail and almost immediately take the spur trail towards the east, heading towards the sandstone fins. Squeeze through the narrow slot canyon and arrive at the sandy base of this cute, stubby arch. The pocket housing the lonely arch is often shady, which is a welcome respite in the warm months. Kids enjoy playing in the sand here.
Do not proceed past the barricade south of the arch and ~definitely~ do not make more graffiti here.
