Paris Mountain State Park requires an entrance fee. Normally this is $5 per person. You can purchase a year long park pass that covers all occupants in your vehicle for $50 and can be used in all inland state parks. Park hours during summer are 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. and during winter are 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Path Type
Loop
Hug the lake on your left along the north edge of the loop until you get to the next left turn. The west end of the loop gets out of sight of the lake and passes through some swampy area before turning left and passing by the park headquarters. You'll end the loop through an open picnic space and crossing a nice bridge crossing over a creek. During weekends, there is an abundance of activity on the lake with kayaks and swimming at the designated swimming spot in the lake. The starting point noted on this loop is at the first parking lot in the park, but you can start anywhere on the south edge of the loop. I use this as a warm-up for longer hikes up into the park, but it would be an excellent loop to repeat a few times, or as an entry-level trail to get started into hiking. Enjoy!
