Description
The best way to enter the trail is from the Guyasuta Trail, which is accessed off Squaw Run Road in the valley. The loop is easy to follow. Going clockwise from the Guyasuta Trail, you'll weave and climb to a road (Trillium Lane). Here is the only "tricky" part. You'll see two roads: one with a brick structure splitting the lanes, and another that is cinder with a metal gate across it. Take the metal gate road; there are signs that indicate it is the Lockhart Trail (aka dog walking path). You'll head down the fire road for a hundred feet or so before a sign (on your right) will indicate the trail turns left off the road, down a few stone steps. Continue on the trail from here. In general, the trail is really nice and as you make your way around the loop, you'll come to a stretch of large stone steps which are unique. A section of the trail follows along the hillside with a great view in the fall with colors from the trees across the valley and above Squaw Run.
