Description
The map was very easy to follow once you get the hang of it. Everything is color coded. Everything looks well-maintained and big enough to hike shoulder and shoulder. Be careful going down because of pine straws and leaves on the ground can be slippery. The mine provides a nice cool off from the tough incline. It also has a bench. Once you get to the lake it is nice to sit on the ground and just take in the view.
History & Background
This was previously the home to a marble mining operation in the 1960s and 1970s.
