Point to Point
The trail begins at the Nevada-Idaho border, on a narrow dirt road. The road isn't in great shape (lots of large rocks, a few deep ruts, a little steep in some places), so you may want to consider hiking to the start point from the main road rather than driving. It is wide open, treeless country. It gets hot in the summer, and there is very little water available anywhere away from the east fork or the main fork of the Jarbidge.
