Description
Starting from Scottish Pike road, go around the front gate of the condo development. At the rear of the parking lot the trail snakes though a kudzu patch below the bluff. A very tight, uneven, rooty, singletrack goes next to the river. It runs over a fallen tree, past several caves, and next to some couches tossed from the top of the bluff. Ahead, the trail turns to a gravel doubletrack. Go left along the pond. Climb up through the concrete pad where a house used to sit. Stay to the left to continue the trail. An old rock wall and stairs from the old house are on the left, just past the concrete pad. Here, the trail descends for a bit passing the beginning of Armstrong Hill loop trail. The last section of doubletrack climbs steeply up to Cherokee Trail Rd. Going around a gate will put you in the upper parking lot just below a water tower.
