Description
From the parking lot, you follow a sandy path on the Alternate Hiking Trail until near the base of the dunes. From there, it is a very steep climb to the peak of the dunes. There are markers at the base of the dune to use as a guide. The biggest challenge is not just the elevation gain in such short mileage, but the fact that you are also hiking through sand.Reaching the top, however, makes it worth it for the views, as well as the fun slide/hike back down the dune afterward.
