This shuttle hike can be done in either direction. This adventure hikes the Appalachian Trail from north to south. From the end of Blue Mountain Lakes rd, follow the forest road south. This very easy section lasts for about 1.5 miles with several great view points by way of a several social paths to the ridge on the left. After the 1.5 miles of forest road, the trail turns to single track and at time seems a bit over grown. Still some great opportunities for view on the left. After another 1.5 miles the trail begins to descend and eventually reach a pond created by a Beaver dam. Plenty of active Beaver activity can be seen along the trail. After a .5 miles from the descent, the trail reaches Millbrook Road. Turn left and cross the road. The Appalachian Trail continues on a forest road that leads to Catfish Fire Tower. The AT leaves the road several times but stay on the road, these short cut the trail takes are very rocky and a slow go. Best to stay on the forest road, they both meet up again near the tower. After the tower, the trail continues another 2.35 miles until you descend down onto Camp Mohican road where you should have left a shuttle vehicle. There is parking along this gravel road and a few spots near the entrance to Mohican Outdoor Center.
