Hikers will enjoy this singletrack climb up the Benton Mackaye Trail to Rocky Mountain. Overall, the trail is a nice singletrack with a rigorous climb on the way out. The footing is mostly good with some rocks and leaves to watch out for. Pay attention to the white diamond blazes, especially the double diamonds that will be found at intersections and sharp turns. Look for the sharp left turn at 1.7 miles from the trailhead. At 2.9 miles, Stanley Creek Trail joins the BMT. This is a nice hike with occasional good views from the ridgeline and Rocky Mountain, especially in the winter when the trees are bare. After enjoying the views from the summit, head back to start, retracing your steps for a nice long downhill to finish up your hike.
