Description
Pinhoti 3 is a mostly uphill out and back from Conasauga Road, near Mulberry Gap, to Hwy 52 (Chatsworth Highway). The trail is exclusively singletrack and has 1,500 feet of climbing. Follow the road to the left about 0.1 miles to access the USFS Cohutta Overlook. Sure, you could drive to this view, but it's so much sweeter to see after working for it!From Cohutta Overlook, you have an excellent spot for sunrise/sunset viewing. Or come in the fall or winter to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Return the same way, mostly downhill, for a total of 8 miles of hiking. Mulberry Gap offers shuttles for those who want to skip the climb and enjoy the downhill.
