Description
Leaving the parking area for the path to the right (northeast), it is a slow, gradual climb along a wide, smooth path. There are some grade changes as you cross a few ditches, then gradually arriving at a short, spur trail that leads to the edge of the lake. The return trip along the lake's edge is more technical, with more frequent grade changes, roots crossing the path, and lots of native granite. As always, watch for standing dead trees. There are some that lean over the trail. Sometimes referred to as "the lake trail," this is a beautiful hike that is great for beginners or just for a simple afternoon hike through native stone and hardwoods.
