Path Type
Point to Point
This trail is very steep, brushy, and rocky in places. The trail is not recommended for horse travel. The trail begins at the Chatter Creek Trailhead and climbs steadily up slopes that alternate between forested and rocky terrain. There are several obvious campsites along the trail for the first 3-4 miles until the thick trees open up to a large bowl. This bowl/meadow opens up to expansive views of the Stuart Range to the south, which are stunning.
After leaving the wildflower-filled bowl, the trail becomes steeper and rockier as it switchbacks up to Lake Edna. This last section is worth the climb, however, as it offers wonderful views of the bowl, the valley below, and the Stuart Range.
