Description
Starting at Discovery Lake Park in San Marcos, this trail combines moderate steepness with restful views. At the top of the 1,644-foot summit, hikers are treated to a spectacular 360-degree view of the North County area. A majority of the trail was affected by the fires, so don't expect much shade. The first mile is paved and then turns into a rougher singletrack. Dogs are welcome! For an out-and-back hike along this trail the length will be 5 miles with a difficulty of moderate.
