Loop
The Hunters Creek North Loop begins from the main parking lot off Hunters Creek Road and quickly enters a shaded hardwood forest. The route follows a mix of singletrack and wider paths, with several junctions leading to other trails within the park—stay generally right at early splits to stay on the main loop. Intermittent creek crossings appear within the first stretch of hiking, often requiring careful footing on rocks or muddy banks.
As the route continues, the trail winds through mossy ravines and along stretches of Hunters Creek. Occasional short climbs and uneven tread add moderate challenge, with exposed roots and wet rocks being the primary obstacles. Wildlife is common in this area, including deer moving through the woods and songbirds along the water. The final section reconnects with the main trail near the parking lot, completing the loop. The combination of creekside scenery and quiet forest makes this a rewarding day hike close to Buffalo.
