Truck Trail begins where Ridge Trail ends. Truck Trail is a wide, fire-road trail, unlike Ridge Trail which is a singletrack trail. Thus, it is easy to tell where Ridge Trail ends and Truck Trail begins.
Truck Trail continues following the forested ridgeline from Ridge Trail. Huge, tall redwoods abound in this forest, along with other small trees and vegetation. Although the vegetation is dense, there are occasional glimpses of the surrounding rugged Santa Cruz Mountains through the trees. Although it can not be seen or heard, Fall Creek is in the deep valley to the left of the trail. Other unseen creeks are in the valley to the right of the trail.
As Truck Trail runs through the redwoods on the forested ridgeline, it climbs gradually for about 1.8 miles and then descends for its last 0.4 miles. Big Ben Trail, which steeply descends to Fall Creek and Fall Creek Trail, is passed on the left about 1.1 miles from the start of Truck Trail. After passing Big Ben Trail, another 1.1 miles brings you to the park boundary where Truck Trail ends.
