Description
The Horse Bypass Trail is one of the few trails in Camp Creek State Park without a large climb or descent. The trail parallels park roads. The trail is shared with horses and so that means that portions of the trail often get more muddy than most trails, and those muddy sections (or once upon a time muddy sections) can be pocked with deep hoofprints. The trail is still certainly doable, but these short sections might need to be taken at a more cautious pace. There are parking areas on both ends of the trail and another in the middle to access the trail and signposts at most junctions with the name of the trail written out. Camp Creek State Park is a great stopover on long drives on I-77 to get out and stretch your legs, as it is only 2 miles off the highway and has multiple waterfalls within the park.
