Carter Falls Trail

The trail begins at the parking lot on Martin Byrd Rd. Follow the white blazes toward the upper falls. After going down a few stairs, follow the trail parallel to Big Elkin Creek and then use some tight switchbacks to get down to the lower falls. The last 30 feet or so can be very slick in the fall when leaves cover the trail surface.
