There and Back
The forest here burned heavily in 2021, so it now provides a unique hiking experience. The trail follows mellow meanders between burnt and surviving pine trees. The lessened canopy provides rich views across the valley and at the large granite domes that surround. The sun can be intense, but the river is nearby for the opportunity to swim and cool off.Another highlight is the significance of Lover's Leap for rock climbing. You may see climbers on the summit or scaling the granite domes across the valley. It's almost like a mini-sized Yosemite without any of the crowds.
