Description
The paved path goes between Platteville and Belmont connecting the two cities together. The path for the most part parallels Highway 151. At times you'll be able to see the highway and other times you'll be far enough away and enjoy the nature around you. There are a lot of birds along the path, watch out for those pesky red-winged blackbirds during their nesting season (June-July). After going one way and then back, the red-winged blackbird tend not to go after you the second time around. There is some tree cover when the path gets closer to the Belmont side. The Platteville side is mainly open and can get hot from the summer and pavement. This trail is maintained by a group of community volunteers. They mow the grass, plant trees and flowers alongside the trail.
