Description
This is a beautiful but somewhat challenging 2.3 mile section (one way) of the Ice Age Trail. From the East end, the trail starts with some very steep switchbacks that open up to an overlook of the town of Cross Plains. The trail climbs through a forest and then spits you out into a prairie with some excellent wildflowers during the late summer. You are taken through another forested segment and then back through the same prairie. A steep gravel downhill takes you past a savannah to the west trailhead.
