There are two trail heads, one accessed from Packers Bay boat ramp parking lot.
Trail is singletrack dirt, and parallels Shasta Lake shoreline, with access for fishing when the lake is full, some of the access is steep. Trail distance from the lake depends on lake level.
The trail itself is loose dirt/rock in the summer with plenty of shade and is mostly flat.
