Whisky Peak Summit

Great summit views deeper into the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and the northern edges of the Red Buttes Wilderness located to the immediate south. One can navigate to the trail start using map/gps; drive and park at the start or combine this segment with a longer hike/run from the Carberry Creek campground (located on the western side of Applegate Lake). Exposed overhead from the start. No water points. Wildlife in the nearby areas. Remnants of an old tower and outhouse remain at the summit.
