Description
Begin at the Tabeguache Trail - Dry Creek Section. This 4wd road is called "Dry Creek Road" on some maps. There is a carsonite sign and gate here right off the road. The trail descends through open meadows and pinyon juniper stands. About halfway down there is a short, stout climb. All too soon the trail flattens out at a trail intersection with the Red Wall Trail (right). Piney Creek trail continues north (left) from this intersection, but its character changes in that the trail starts to become more rolling as opposed to the downhill you just completed.
