Beaudry Loop

This is a nice hike which gives great views of La Canada and the San Gabriel Mountains on one side and Griffith Park and the LA basin on the other side. The ascent is steady and moderately strenuous till it peaks at the KROQ radio tower. There is a good lookout point just beyond the chain link fence surrounding the tower. There's also a commemorative plaque and a view which looks out over Glendale, Burbank and Griffith Park.Most of the hike is on dirt fire roads until you reach the radio tower which is partly paved. I recommend doing the loop counterclockwise as mapped, as there are parts of the Beaudry South Motorway which are pretty steep on the ascent and there are sections of scree.At the top of the Beaudry North Motorway, turn left onto Verdugo Motorway and continue the climb to the KROQ tower and lookout. Continuing on, follow Verdugo Motorway until it intersects with the Beaudry South Motorway for the return leg of the loop.
