Rosy Mound Hike

From the main parking area, find the Barrier Free Gravel Loop and head counterclockwise for the most direct route toward the first viewpoint and staircase. Head up and over the wooded dune to another Gravel Connector down toward yet another viewpoint, with a great vantage point over the numerous trails to the beach. Look for an optional left turn shown here that heads down toward the beach and the pit toilets. Otherwise, head right (north) up along the beach for a flat stroll and quick loop through a brushy section of low-lying dune with access to a couple spurs down to the beach. After enjoying the lakeshore, retrace your steps up the staircases and along the Gravel Connector to head back to the parking area.
