Train Wreck

Parking is on Jane Lakes Road, off Cheakamus and Legacy Way off 99 (Sea-to-Sky Highway). Starting at the parking lot, there are two trailheads that start from here. Be sure to start on the one labeled "Train Wreck." Follow the wide, well-maintained trail to the Cheakamus River. All trail intersections are signed. The trail descends to the banks of the Cheakamus River, where you cross on a suspension bridge. Once you cross the suspension bridge, head uphill and you'll see the train wreck. There are 5 train cars in this area (which is what the map covers), but if you continue south/downstream, you'll find 2 more train cars.This is a very kid-friendly hike, but beware as the train cars have some sharp edges, etc.Beware that some trail sites show an old trail that starts on the other side of the train tracks and has you cross them (this is both illegal and dangerous, as the tracks are active).
