Rim Trail via North Campground

If you are staying at the North Campground of Bryce Canyon National Park, you can easily access the beautiful and long Rim Trail. The entire trail is 5.5 miles each way and has a large change in elevation between Bryce Point to the south and Fairyland Point to the north. Most people don't do the entire trail from start to finish but instead access it from various points around the park while checking out each localized section. The views from the North Campground area are truly incredible, a great place to enjoy a sunset or sunrise without having to jump in your car. Just like many of the trails in Bryce, you will need to be wary of the high, steep, and sharp cliff edges that do not have any guard rails or protective barriers. There are several sections that provide enough room to enjoy a small picnic while taking in the sights, and we did not see many other hikers compared to the more popular trails in the park. I would recommend heading north from the trailhead simply because the views are far more dynamic than those to the south of the campground. Keep an eye out for the small, open-ended cave, which is a fun and unique feature to enjoy along the way.
