Point to Point
For visitors short on time or looking for a bang-for-your-buck loop, this hike is your best bet without simply doing an out-and-back on the Green Trail (A.M. Thomas Trail). From the West View parking area, head east to the Green Trail (A.M. Thomas Trail) and begin the stair climb. After 0.3 miles, you'll arrive at the base of the summit where you have the option of scrambling around the craggy summit to find your favorite vista. After getting your fill of the view, head back to the trail and continue northeast (left) onto the Red Trail (Monadnock Trail), passing the Orange Trail (Sunrise Trail) to your right (southeast). The Red Trail (Monadnock Trail) bends around the northern slope of Sugarloaf for another few hundred yards before ending at the Blue Trail (Northern Peaks Trail). Turn left (west) to follow the blue blazes back to the West View parking area.
