The upper part of the parking area, near the end of Reseda, is a fee area. There's a sign marking the start of the fee area, and a yellow line across the road. There's a stop sign in the middle of the parking area, slightly above the start of the fee area.

The trailhead for the Caballero Canyon Trail lies across Reseda Blvd. from the Braemar Country Club. Free parking can be found along the boulevard. From the trailhead, the hike takes you down a dirt path that follows a creek running parallel to Reseda Blvd. The trail meanders south while steadily gaining elevation. Roughly one mile into the hike the trail enters Topanga State Park before coming to its juncture with Mulholland Drive.Follow Mulholland Drive to the right to to continue the hike. After roughly 1/4 mile along the dirt path you come across trail junctions with the Bent Arrow Trail and the Rustic Canyon Trail. Stay on Mulholland Drive until you reach a junction with a sign pointing you in the direction of Mulholland Gateway Park, turn right here to go toward the park. After nearly 1/4 mile you'll reach the park at the end of the path. From here you can follow Reseda Blvd. back to the original trailhead for the Caballero Canyon Trail. Thanks to John McKinney, The Trailmaster, for sharing this trail description.
