Description
This alternate section of the California Trail starts at the Smoky Mountain Campground and heads east. The trail follows Circle Creek crossing it once about halfway along the trail. The California Trail Alternate ends at an equestrian trailhead north of Smoky Mountain Drive. This trail traverses through high desert steppe to pinon trees.
