The Macomb Orchard Trail is a 24-mile trail that starts in the southwest at 24 Mile and Dequendre in Shelby Township and ends northeast in the city of Richmond. The southeast trailhead connects to the Clinton River Trail. The Macomb Orchard Trail is part of a network of trail that will connect 180 miles of trails across southeast Michigan.
The trail is paved and very smooth. On nice days, expect lots of pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the path. Although you are never far from a main road, this trail does a fantastic job of surrounding you with trees making you feel like you are truly out in nature.
If you are on the southwest end of the trail when you finish your hike or ride consider visiting Yates Cider Mill for cider donuts or ice cream.
