Description
To gain access to the this trail you'll take the Cedar Brake Outer Loop trail from the parking area across the Paluxy River and then make a left turn on the Denio Creek Warbler Trail trail where you'll travel a very short distance and take another left on the Paluxy River Trail. After that turn you'll almost immediately take a right at the beginning on the Black-capped Vireo Trail. This trail follows the ridgeline that is only about 100 feet above the valley floor so there isn't any strenuous uphill climbs. As most trails in this area you'll wind in and around a vast cedar forest. Plan to bring sunscreen as shade is variable throughout this hike. This trail winds around the ridge making several distinct turns and eventually connecting back with the Cedar Brake Outer Loop at the far northern portion of the park. Overall this is a nice hike that gets you away from some of the more traveled sections of Dinosaur Valley. The trails are all well-marked with signage throughout the park so way finding is fairly easy.
