Description
The Gandy Dancer State Trail is a scenic rail trail through Nemadji State Forest and St. Croix State Forests. Expect to see a lot of wildlife, scenic water landscapes, and some great sections of wildflowers. Although the Gandy Dancer Trail can be hikeed in either direction, starting from the north will mean going generally downhill. The route itself is a mostly flat dirt road open to all vehicles including cars and snowmobiles. Along the way, there are ample opportunities to stop and take in views of the northern forests as well as small historic structures right along side the road. The trail is marked clearly and should be easy to follow. When you reach the intersection of Beldon Road and Rash Road, stay right (west) to continue on the trail. The southern terminus of the route is East Arm Road.
