Fall Creek Falls National Recreation Trail

Fall Creek Falls is one of the more easily accessible waterfalls in the area. With a short and moderately steep hike of about a mile round trip, the site is perfect to pair with another nearby adventure. The trail winds through Douglas fir forests and along the creek, providing opportunities to see interesting geologic features. Some sections of the trail are narrow, passing through a crevice in a large bolder, while other sections are shaded by the lush plants and trees of the forest. There is an option to take a short (0.25 miles) detour on Jobs Garden Trail #1502A to a columnar basalt outcropping. Back on the main trail you'll reach the base of the falls where a small bench makes for a nice place to relax and enjoy the sounds of the flowing water. The multi-tiered falls is close to 120 feet, but only the lower part is visible from the base. To view the rest, continue up the trail to the top where it connects with a Forest Service road. A picnic table and informational signs are located next to the parking area, and flush toilets are at the trailhead just over the small footbridge.
