This is inside Perrot State Park so you'll need a Wisconsin State Parks day or annual pass to access it. The cross-country portions of this trail function as a groomed cross-country skiing trail in the winter and as a rxhing trail in the warmer months. During winter months, the skiing trail is fenced off at points where it intersects with dedicated rxhing trails but park rangers mark alternate routes that allow those on foot to circumvent the skiing trails.
Path Type
Loop
This trail combines the eastern section of the Perrot Ridge Trail and the eastern loop of the Cross-Country Ski/Hiking Trail - East Loop. The Perrot Ridge Trail portion is all singletrack with some minor technical areas and the Cross-Country Ski/Hiking Trail - East Loop portions are all wide, doubletrack. The hike starts at the small parking lot just prior to the park headquarters building. It climbs up a ravine to the meet the cross-country trail. The east loop of the trail takes you into a bowl-shaped bluff coulee with a number of smaller inclines/descents that are less technical than the top of the Perrot Ridge Trail or nearby Brady's Bluff Trail - North.
